We have eleven multi-channel sound control rooms in NHK broadcasting center, Tokyo. They all are practically used for broadcasting, and highly valued by production staff. We have developed design guidelines for them, considering not only acoustical requirements, but also restrictions such as cost, constructing period or space. We present an outline of the guideline, referring to dimensions and acoustical characteristics of some of the control rooms.
