This presentation introduces some actual multichannel sound music recordings that were made at NHK and discusses the advantages and difficulties of multichannel sound production. Natural sound recording in a concert hall, in particular, is discussed in detail, and a basic approach to multichannel sound recording, "The Layered Multichannel Sound Recording Array" is introduced with some audio demo examples.
