Recent experiments in acquisition techniques for surround sound location recording have resulted in omnidirectional microphone array designs in pentarray and pentarray+ configurations. Field recording methods continue to investigate the ability of such configurations to reproduce surround sound imaging through a standard 5.1 loudspeaker arrangement. Examples of recordings will be included in the conference presentation.
